My latest visit to The University of Alabama [photos]

I had the pleasure of returning to The University of Alabama last month to speak with students of the “Arab Women in Literature” course about The Bride of Amman. I was thrilled to hear that the course now has two full classes, with around 80 students enrolled this year. It was a brief but meaningful visit, where I joined them for one enriching lecture.

Big thanks to Prof. Safa Elnili for the kind invitation, and to Prof. Ibrahim Al Khalailah for continuing to teach the book. And of course, endless gratitude to Prof. Cheryl Toman, who first introduced The Bride of Amman into the course’s reading list, and invited me to visit back in March 2022.

This year, I also took the opportunity to introduce my upcoming novel The Man of Middling Height, sharing a bit about it and handing out flyers to the students.

Tuscaloosa is absolutely charming in the spring. I truly enjoyed this visit! Sharing a few photos with you all.
