Happy Anniversary to The Arab Observer

I haven’t celebrated my blog anniversary yet! I started it in March last year and it is April now. I guess that it is not fair to my blog not to celebrate it’s anniversay knowing that it has been the home of my thoughts in the past year. A home where it did not only recieved the various ideas and feelings I had in the past year but also pushed me to read and think more in order to bring new substance to my blog readers.

My blog has created another mean of communicating with other people online. Now in addition to my personal friends, my chat friends, my email friend, and my phone friends, I have many blog friends.

Looking back at the past years posts, I find it hard to pick the best one. I love most of what I have written although there are some posts that I wish that I didn’t wrote.

I like mostly the posts that has a sense of me, an incident happened to me, or a feeling that I felt, or a thought that passed in my head. I pick among them:

6. Social Pressure short story
7. Ommak Madonna!
8. I love my “won’t be” born son
9. The Nude man short story
10. The Alley Conscience

13. My role in life

I want to thank all the readers of my blog. Those who comment and those who don’t.

I also would like to ask a small favour from each one who read this post. I want a comment from each reader just for this post today telling me his/her name/id, how long has he/she been reading my blog, what is his/her favourite post, and any other thing he/she would like to tell me. I came across your blog I think during the last July, what I liked that here there is a nice piece of mind simply expressed so all readers from different levels can got it out of any comlications.Happy Anniversary.Tell you something funny ..at begining I was thinking that the ID for Arab Observer looks like such Arab Classical thinkers in 70’s with glasses in thier 50’s and so on..hehhee..the name gives this ID..sorry observer ..I was amazed to find you very young Arab Observer 🙂 keep it up and good luck Young Observer 🙂

Happy anniversary Fadi,I don’t remember when did I start following your blog but it could have been since the beginning.My favorite blog was about the one which you proposed attaching urine container to the bed mattress so you can urinate right there and then without having to get up and walk to the bathroom at night especially when you don’t have to.I thought the idea was very creative but of course like everything else it needs a lot of refinements.My second favorite one was the one on your flight to the gulf when you were trying to make a connection with God or with Angels while you were up there in the sky but instead you didn’t really find nothing up there and the connection was never made.I can name few others but these were the best in my opinion and the reason is that they demonstrate plenty of creativity on your part.I wouldn’t let you go without letting you know about the worst one, it was the one that you talked about masturbation. I do understand that masturbation is part of life and it does have a place for discussion and it is your freedom of speech that you are expressing and that is your god given absolute right but still, I don’t think that I’m interested in knowing about the frequency of your masturbation. Some people masturbate once a day, others may masturbate 7 to 10 times a day, but that is your business and theirs and not mine as a reader. I kind of thought that was a blog out of context, or at least it was unrepresentative of the Observer that I know.I hope that you accept my praise as well as as my criticism in an open heart and mind, after all you asked for it and you got it.Again, happy anniversary keep up the good work.

I remembered one more item that I enjoyed reading for you, it wasn’t here on your blog but some where else in the blog sphere. It was an exchange between you and an Italian lady about the comment with which Queen Rania uttered regarding the Hijab issue. The debate was going on in a methodical manner for several days with neither one of you wanting to concede defeat or even acknowledge that there can be a happy medium somewhere. She kept on insisting more or less and in so many words that the Queen’s position is that the Hijab is not divinely mandated requirement and it could go either way meaning that the lady has the option of wearing it or taking it off or not wearing it at all, and God is the final judge on that. But you were trying to articulate to her that wasn’t what the queen had said and her statement was taken out of contest, but she didn’t want to budge and you didn’t budge either. I’m not sure how the debate had ended but I think if my memory serves me correctly it was a draw.
