It took the Church that long to understand their own scriptures! So how long would it take for Muslim clerks to look deep into the Quran and give the green light for Darwin’s theory?

Abed, most Muslim clergies refuses Darwin’s theory of natural selection, no? Anon, is this Dr. Mohd Shahror? I went over the page on his site. I remember watching him on TV as well. He has a very intelligent interpretation of Quran versus and very logical approach of explaining things and refute its contradiction with science. I do admire him so much. I just don’t see other Muslim clergy following his views and teachings. There is a contraversy around his views. Contraversy that I hope to end for his benefit. We need more people like him. Mohannad, the definition you are looking at is too narrow. Natural selection is the cornerstone of evolution which is accepted by almost all scientists. It’s counter to most theories of creation (religions). I’m not sure particularly about Islam, but when it comes to Christianity, the whole god created the world in 7 days thing just doesn’t match the fossil evidence. Some people argue that this is not 7 earth days but that is ridiculous since the bible was written for us not anyone on another planet. Anyway it’s one of many inconsistencies in the bible that don’t match historical and scientific evidence, so it’s not really that glaring.To me the pope might as well admit (we’ve been fooling you this long, hahaha!)

No.What Islam disapprove of is not the natural selection. Not even the evolution as a concept. But what Islam disapprove of is that human was animal then after some evolution it became human, which is something Darwin couldn’t prove. What Darwin prove is that there IS evolution, that’s all. He didn’t know how it happened, and he didn’t prove that human was animals as the atheists like to believe. Actually if you dig Islam, you will find a verse where Angles say why create human that will kill and shed blood on earth, and how did they know ? it’s because there were creatures other than human before on this earth, something that modern science proved. Islam has never given a certain date to when life started on earth either, which also doesn’t contradict any modern science. Actually this precision in Islam in those small things that made my beliefs more firm, because it’s very unlikely and irrational (to me) that one human could make all this up.

That is how they are classified scientifically. If you look at the discoveries of humans ancestors, you can find different phases of human evolution. It wasn’t like an ape slept one day and woke up to be a man. It has been a long time process of evolution.

I think they are contradictory. And those who believe in both are either twisting the religion or are only taking parts of the theory of evolution. Most probably they’re doing both. But, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and interpretations.For me, I choose the theory of evolution over religion.PS. In the theory of evolution, every complex organ was formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications. As in, not only we evolved from chimpanzees, we (and the chimpanzees) actually evolved from one celled organisms like a bacteria.
